FITNESS TIPS..... TO GET YOU STARTED

Burn it's Top 10 Tips to a healthy body........

Regular exercise can improve your quality of life! So get started now!

1. Find time to exercise - Don't make excuses! Make fitness a permanent part of your new lifestyle.
2. Be more active - Try to walk more instead of using the car, bus or train and take every opportunity to walk the dog!
3. Exercise regularly and 'service' your body - Aim to exercise between two to five times every week - try to make each session last between 20 minutes and an hour. Always remember to warm up and cool down before exercising and indulge in a regular Sports Massage to help keep those muscles in good condition.
4. Follow a set of realistic fitness goals - Don't overdo it at first, gradually build up your fitness to prevent overtraining and unnecessary injury. Remember, results are not instant so stay motivated and be patient!
5. Try to vary your exercise - Make sure that your exercise regime covers both aerobic training (such as running, walking, or rowing), resistance training (dumbbell work or using your own body exercises such as press ups and pull ups) and flexibility or stretching.
6. Learn to exercise without equipment too - Don't find excuses - you can still stay in shape without a gym! Learn to use your own body by doing wall squats, lunges, press-ups, a variety of sit-ups and stretches.
7. Follow a well-balanced diet - Eat healthily and cut out the junk food - never skip breakfast, enjoy a healthy lunch and cut down on quantity for dinner. Try to include at least 5-7 servings of fresh fruit and vegetables every day.
8. Drink more water! - Aim to drink at least 11/2 to 2 litres of water a day - and more if you are exercising. Don't wait until you are thirsty as this is too late - your body has already become dehydrated.
9. Get Motivated! Get Help! - Work with a Personal Fitness Trainer! Working with a personal trainer, either at your home or in the gym, can make the difference between 'just going through the motions' and achieving your true fitness goals. With the help of a Personal Trainer, you can learn the correct technique to help get the most out of your exercise programme.
10. Enjoy it! - Most of all, now you've started, keep focused, stay motivated and have fun!
